AN ORDINANCE

REVISING THE TAP-IN

FEE FOR THE WATER

WORKS AND SEWAGE

WORKS OF THE TOWN

OF SHOALS, INDIANA

WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Shoals, Indiana now finds that the existing charge for tap-in fee for water and sewage service is insufficient to pay the actual costs of tapping new water customers.

NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Town Council of the Town of Shoals, Indiana as follows:

Section 1. There shall be and there is hereby a revision to the connection charge heretofore established by Ordinance No. 2017-4 as follows:

Water Connection charge: 5/8” meter: $1,275.00;

Sewage Connection charge: $850.00; and

Larger meters: actual costs.

The above costs are materials, labor, and equipment to be used to install a single new meter set only. Any other costs incurred is the responsibility of the property owner.

Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full and effect from and after its passage; provided however that in no event shall the rates become effective until March 1, 2021.
