Carl Dean “Red” Combs, age 58, of Loogootee, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at the Daviess Community Hospital, in Washington, Indiana.

He was born October 6, 1962, in Letcher County, Kentucky, the son of Alex (Edna Mae) Combs and Brenda (Sergent) Combs. He married Jacqueline Wiscaver on April 28, 1984, and she survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Carlton and William Combs; three daughters, Deanna Asbury, Carly Moss, and Sheena Combs; seven grandchildren; sisters, Vivian Ann Gabriel, Sondra Emmons, Nancy Asbell, Jenny Bates, and Frances Cook; brothers, Wayne Combs, Bobby Combs, Jim Combs, Charlie Haulk, Mark Combs, Alex Ishamel Combs, Fee Bates, Shannon Combs, and Bud Bates; and special friends, Jonas and Owen Graber, and Brian Wagler.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Rene.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept-ember 16th, at the Queen-Lee Chapel, in Shoals, of the Thorne-George Family Funeral Ho-mes, Inc. Pastor Jim Lily will officiate the service.

Burial will follow in the Goodwill Cemetery, in Loogootee.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15th, and from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to set up a trust fund for future expenses.
