Carla C. Hoffmann, age 76, of Loogootee, Indiana, passed away at 5:15 a.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2019, at Northwood Retirement Community, in Jasper.
She was born at Jasper, Indiana, on January 28, 1943, to Martin and Viola (Poe) Schiller. She married Robert Hoffmann on October 20, 1962, at Christ Lutheran Church, in Haysville, Indiana.
Carla was a graduate of Dubois High School with the Class of 1961. She worked as a secretary for the Jasper Rubber Products for six years, also worked for the Daviess-Martin County REMC, where she did meter reading for 22 years.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, in Haysville, where she taught Sunday School for many years, was a member of WELCA of Christ Church. and the Loogootee-Shoals Tri-Kappa, where she served on many committees.
She did a lot of volunteer work for local nursing homes and funeral bereavement dinners.
Surviving are her husband, Robert Hoffmann; two daughters, Elizabeth Raney and husband Jeff, of Alfordsville, and Mary Baker and husband Ken, of Bedford; and one son, David Hoffmann and wife Emily, of Indianapolis.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, Nicholas, Zachary, Kierstin, and Kennedy; and three step-grandchildren, Alexia, Kennedy, and Jace; two sisters, Gerry Burton, of Bardstown, Kentucky, and Sharon Hoffman and husband Nelson, of Jasper; one stepsister, Joan Freyberger-Harker, of Loogootee; and two stepbrothers, Lowell Dorsam and wife Sue, of Haysville, and Russell Dorsam, of Haysville.
Preceding her in death was one sister, Ruthann Stahl.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13th, in Christ Lutheran Church, with burial to follow in Community Cemetery, in Haysville.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday July 12th, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel, in Jasper.
An American Legion Auxiliary Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m.; Women Moose Lodge #1175 Memorial Service at 6:15 p.m.; and WELCA Memorial Service at 6:30 p.m., all on Friday July 12th, at the funeral home.
