Charles E. Tharp, age 75, of Shoals, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at his residence.

He was born on August 16, 1944, in Martin County, Indiana, to Frank M. and Helen L. (Holt) Tharp. He married Lois D. Miles on December 28, 1962 and she preceded him in death on July 28, 2018.

Charles was a retired truck driver, was a former Reserve Deputy Sheriff and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, in Shoals.

He is survived by two daughters, Julie L. Tharp and Tammy Goldsberry and husband Robert, all of Shoals; one son, Charles “Tony” Tharp and wife Mary, of Loogootee; grandchildren, Andy Tharp and wife Melissa, Amber Kirkendall and husband Brandon, Ashten Carnegie, Bud Goldsberry, Candi Stone, Nisha Ca-rrico, Tasha Crowder and husband Ron, and Autumn Allbright; great-grandchildren, Alexander, Brooklyn, Hoyt, Lilly, Saphira, Maddix, Xavier, Phoenix, Zeek, Aleah, Nevaeh, Alex, Christian, Braylynn, Gaige, Zach, Daylon and Trenton; and two sisters, Lois Fuartado, of Loogootee, and Beverly Gee, of Shoals.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jim Tharp.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10th, at the Queen-Lee Chapel of the Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, Inc., in Shoals. Pastor Kevin Quinn officiated the service.

Burial was made in the Spring Hill Cemetery, at Shoals.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 9th, at the funeral home.
