Clinton Arthur Roberts, age 89, of French Lick, Indiana, passed away on April 12, 2020, at Springs Valley Meadows, in French Lick.

He was born in Orange County, Indiana, to Clinton and Ella Roberts on October 18, 1930. He married Violet Holt Roberts and they were married 55 years until his death.

Clint served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper, served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Sergeant and the Indiana National Guard for a total of eleven years. During his service he served in Korea earning a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Korean service medal, and Presidential Commendation Medal. He was also a Prisoner of War. Clint was a lifetime member of the American Legion and Marine Corps Auxiliary Club. After serving his country, Clint held various jobs including running a truck stop in Salem, managing several hotels, and working in security.

Survivors include two sisters, Vickie, of Indianapolis, and Betty, of Bloomington; one son, Tony Roberts; three stepchildren, Judy Wilson, of Liberty, Kentucky; Ronnie Jones, of French Lick; and Debbie Smith, of Shoals; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; two sisters; and five stepchildren.

Clinton’s cremains were laid to rest with his wife, Violet Roberts, on Monday, June 29th, at 1:00 p.m., at the Cresthaven Memory Gardens.

The Cresthaven Funeral Ho-me, in Bedford, was in charge of the arrangements.
