David E. Yarnell, age 76, of Montgomery, Indiana, passed away at 2:50 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2019, at the Daviess Community Hospital, in Washington.

He was born February 17, 1943, to the late Max and Thelma (Gillespie) Yarnell.

David married Judy (Dillman) Yarnell on December 22, 1966, and she survives.

David enjoyed making people smile by performing as a clown for the Shriners. He had a lifelong interest in funeral service. He was knowledgeable in all th-ings funeral related and was driven by compassion for helping families suffering a loss. David never met a stranger and had such a kind and loving soul. He will be missed by all who knew him.

David was also preceded in death by siblings, Keith Yarnell, Kenneth “Buddy” Yarnell, Shirley Griffin, Jeanne Wagoner, and Jimmy Yarnell.

David is survived by his wife, Judy Yarnell, of Montgomery; sons, David (Iesha) Yarnell, of Brooklyn, New York, and Daniel Yarnell, of Montgomery; grandchildren, Josh Yarnell, Mason Yarnell, Christian Yarnell, and Zachary Yarnell; siblings, Cynthia Yarnell, Ted (Judy) Yarnell, Judy Lankford, Linda Olberding, and Dr. Stephen (Karen) Yarnell; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 7th, at the Blake Funeral Home, in Loogootee.

Burial will follow in Goodwill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 6th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Blake Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to any Shriners Hospital for Children.
