David L. Gaither, age 56, of Shoals, Indiana, passed away on February 24, 2023.

He was born on February 8, 1967, in Bedford, Indiana, the son of John E. and Grace (Dant) Gaither. He married Glenda Jewell and she survives

David was the owner/operator of David Gaither Excavating and a firm believer in God.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda, of Shoals; his parents, of Shoals; sisters, Suzan Garines and husband, Jim, of Bedford; and Jona Butler, of Williams; nieces and nephews, Cinandra McCleery and husband, Kenny, Deidra Brown and husband Tony, Lucas Butler, and Desirae Brown; four great-nieces and nephews, Ben and Mya McCleery, and Collier and Mattingly Brown.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gladys and Herschel Dant; his paternal grandparents, Pearl and Glenn Gaither; one brother, Johnny Gaither; brothers-in-law, Davey Butler and Mike Jewell; and two sisters-in-law.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 3rd, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary, in Bedford.

Burial will follow in the Trinity Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday at the mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made to the White River Humane Society or Martin County Humane Society.
