Geneva Irene Wease, age 86, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away Friday, January 22, 2021, at the Garden Villa, in Bloomington.

She was born May 28, 1934, in Lawrence County, Indiana, the daughter of Lefair and Orpha (Reynolds) Guthrie.

Geneva was a 1952 graduate of Mitchell High School. She worked for over 30 years for RCA until she retired in 1992. After she retired, she went back to work for Walmart for five years.

She was a member of the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church, and she was a former member of the Tulip Street Christian Church, in Mitchell. She enjoyed shopping, IU Basketball, playing Euchre, camping, walking, and a social butterfly and was involved in all activities at the Garden Villa. She loved all of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loved spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her sons, Ken Wease and wife Debbie, of Harrodsburg; and Michael Wease and wife Tina, of Anderson; her daughter, Ginger Sparks and husband Craig, of Spencer; six grandchildren, Aaron Wease and wife Marci; Travis Wease and wife Amanda; Jamison Wease, Justin Wease, Seth Sparks, and Wyatt Sparks; four great-grandchildren, McKinzie Reith and husband Austin; Brett Wease, Dalton Wease, and Tyson Wease; and several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Wendell Wease and wife Twila, of Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews; and a grand puppy Mugsy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur Wease; one son, Jarold Wease; one daughter, Genetta Wease; and one great-grandson, Robert Wease.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 6th, at the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church. Reverend Matt Hinshaw will officiate the service.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Burial will follow at the Lawrenceport Cemetery. Cremation Rites have been accorded.

Memorial contributions may be made in Geneva’s name to the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church.
