Gregory Ivan Sims, age 58, of Shoals, Indiana, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center, in Jasper, Indiana.

He was born on June 14, 1963, in Washington, Indiana, to George Tony and Sue (Pride) Sims.

Greg was a 1981 graduate of Shoals High School, was a Veteran of the United States Army, a member of the Eagles Lodge No. 2442, in Shoals; the Shoals V.F.W. Post No. 8589, St. Mary Catholic Church, in Shoals, and was Bar Manager at the Shoals V.F.W.

Survivors include his mother, Sue Sims; sisters, Penny Gibbs and husband Greg, and Annette Taylor; brother, Tony Sims; brother-in-law, Roger Atkison; nieces and nephews, Adam Atkison and Allie Friederichs, Ryan Atkison and wife Lauren, Tyler Gibbs, Trey Gibbs, Tanner Gibbs, Travis Gibbs and Kaziah, Seth Taylor and Courtney, and Ashley Taylor and Cory Spitznagel; uncle, Edward Sims; and several great nieces and nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Tony Sims; one sister, Debra Atkison; one brother in infancy; grandparents, Jasper Sims, Lillian Hagerty, Alvin and Bonnie Pride; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 16th, at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Shoals.

Burial will be made in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

The Queen-Lee Chapel, in Shoals, of the Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, Inc., is in charge of the arrangements.
