Jerry V. Smith, age 77, of Loogootee, Indiana, passed away at 4:15 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center, in Jasper, Indiana.

He was born November 14, 1942, in Washington, Indiana, to the late Frank R. and Mildred (Arvin) Smith.

Jerry graduated in 1961 from Loogootee High School and attended Vincennes University.

He was a lifelong farmer who loved sports, fishing, and boating. He was a member of the White River Masonic Lodge and attended the Loogootee United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his siblings, Karol Wade and husband Bob, of Avon; Jim Smith and wife Judy, of Oracle, Arizona; Darrel Smith and wife Nina, of Bloomfield; Beth Lett, and Tony Smith and wife Lana, all of Loogootee; 16 nieces and nephews; and uncle, Clinton Smith, of Surprise, Arizona.

He was also preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Michael Lett.

A funeral service was conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8th, at the Loogootee United Methodist Church.

Burial followed in the Goodwill Cemetery, at Loogootee.

Visitation was held on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church, prior to the service.

Arrangements were provided by the Blake Funeral Home, in Loogootee.
