Kayla Marie Sanders, age 26, of Loogootee, Indiana, passed away at 8:36 p.m., on Friday, September 18, 2020.

She was born July 12, 1994, in Washington, Indiana, to Gregory J. Salmon and Lillie Marie (Hansen) Greenhalgh.

Kayla fought a long battle with kidney failure. She loved spending time with her family and going on drives with her fiance, Randy Zellars. She loved coloring and drawing pictures with her nieces and nephews and doing hair and makeup with her nieces.

She married Kirk Sanders on November 5, 2011, and he preceded her in death on December 17, 2016. Kayla then met and fell in love with Randy Lee Zellars and they were engaged to be married.

Survivors include her parents, Gregory J. Salmon and Lillie Marie (Hansen) Greenhalgh, of Loogootee; fiance, Randy Zellars, of Greenwood; four brothers, David Salmon and wife Brandy, Danny Salmon and wife Ashley, and Hunter Salmon and wife Kennedi, all of Loogootee, and Roger Salmon, of Elnora; nieces and nephews, Warren, Andrew, Abby, and Jamie Salmon, Essie, Drake, and Courtney Craig, Aspen, Seth, Sydnee, and ShyAnn Salmon, Johnathan Fr-aley, Duane and Lukas Salmon, Aleecia Jones, Heaven York, Bre, James, Paysen and Hazel Jones, and Liam York; great-aunt and uncle, Peggy and Bob Hoover.

She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Herschel and Betty Salmon and Fred and Cordia Hansen; aunts, Nedra K. Ketchem and Lisa Wininger; aunt and uncle, Lana Sue and Bob Wilkerson; and cousin, Josh Ketchem.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25th, at the Blake Funeral Home, in Loogootee.

Burial will be made in the Goodwill Cemetery, in Loogootee.

Visitation is from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Blake Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
