Mary R. Muir, age 91, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at Forum at The Crossing, in Indianapolis.

She was born April 14, 1928, in Martin County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Curtis and Lorena (Fuhrman) Abel.

On April 4, 1975, she was married to the late Samuel Muir.

Mary was employed with the Indiana State Police Department for 20 years as a secretary in the Crime Lab.

Survivors include her two daughters, Carol Sharpe and husband Craig, of Carmel; and Candice Burrell, of Indianapolis; two brothers, Roger and Robert Abel, both of Shoals. In addition, she is survived by five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and two stepdaughters, Suzy Muir and Patricia Abner.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 25th, at 1:00 p.m.. with calling from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 526 E. 52nd Street, Indianapolis.

Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, located at 9700 Allisonville Road, in Indianapolis.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial donations may be directed to the Alzheimer Association.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Flanner Buchanan-Broad Ripple.
