Peggy Anita Burns, age 89, of Shoals, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 9:10 p.m. at the Loogootee Nursing Center.

She was born January 4, 1932, in Evansville, Indiana, to Floyd and Estelle (Murray) Forston. She married U. Columbus Burns and he preceded her in death in 1976.

Peggy was a housekeeper at the Sheraton Hotel and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include her children, Shirley Jean Holt and husband Bernard, and Alice Jackie Terry; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; children, Patricia White, Richard Burns, Christine Lampson, and an infant son; two grandchildren, Don Aslinger and Jimmy Lee Holt; and siblings, Don Forston, David Forston and Joyce Forston.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 28th, at the Queen-Lee Chapel, in Shoals, of the Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, Inc.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.

Burial will be made in the Spring Hill Cemetery, at Shoals.
