Raymond Cleo Truelove, age 94, of Cannelburg, Indiana, passed away at 9:35 p.m. on Monday, March 22, 2021, at his home.

He was born on February 21, 1927, in Rutherford Township, to the late Archibald and Rosetta (Rutherford) Truelove. Raymond married Laverne Carrico on November 27, 1946.

He was a United States Navy Veteran and bravely served in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post 120.

Raymond enjoyed volunteering for the Right to Life paper drives and as a Red Coat at Daviess Community Hospital for many years. He was an avid “master” gardener and enjoyed taking care of honeybees. He loved playing euchre.

Survivors include his children, Mary Luthe, of Pleasantview, Tennessee; Paul Truelove and wife Kathy, of Loogootee; Anthony Truelove, of Fort Wayne; Michael Truelove and wife Retha, of Lubbock, Texas; James Truelove and wife Laura, of Montgomery; Patricia Baxter, of Washington; and Rita (Janet) Truelove, of Greenwood; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Laverne Truelove; son, Eddie Jo Truelove; great-grandson, Isaiah Watson; son-in-law, Carl Luthe; and one step-granddaughter, Chrystal Watson.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Reverend Sudhakar Bhastati and concelebrant Very Reverend J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 27th, at All Saints Catholic Church, in Cannelburg.

Burial followed in St. John Catholic Cemetery, in Loogootee.

Visitation was held on Friday, March 26th, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, and on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time for the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Heart to Heart Hospice of Southwest Indiana.

The Blake Funeral Home, in Loogootee, was in charge of the arrangements.
