Raymond John Arvin died recently in Santa Monica, California.
He was born on January 17, 1950, the son of John and Hilda (Strange) Arvin.
Raymond attended St. John’s Elementary and High School in Loogootee and was a 1968 graduate. He was a graduate of Indiana University, where he also received a law degree. He practiced law briefly in Chicago, Illinois, as part of the VISTA program. For the past 35 years he has been a resident in California, where he found a supportive and caring community.
Survivors include his brother, Glen Arvin, and sisters, Rita Divine, Lois Stickell, and Ruth Hovis; three nieces and five nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Joseph and Dennis, and his nephew, John Hovis.
