Richard Kluesner, age 71, of Loogootee, Indiana, passed away at 5:45 a.m., on Monday, June 25, 2018, at the Linda E. White Hospice House.

He was born August 13, 1946, in Jasper, Indiana, to the late Anthony and Bernadine (Schroering) Kluesner.

Richard retired from NSWC Crane after 31 years of employment. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and various organizations. He received the Simon Brute Award from the Diocese of Evansville and was the Martin County Community Foundation 2015 Philanthropist of the Year.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Kluesner, of Loogootee; children, Jennifer Kluesner, of Clarksville, Indiana; and Andrew Kluesner and wife Emily, of Loogootee; and grandchildren, Grayson, Liam, and Hattie Kluesner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Bernadine Kluesner; and his siblings, Margaret Ann Lents and husband Tom, and Victor B. “Sonny” Kluesner.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Very Reverend J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 29th, at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, in Loogootee.

Burial will follow in the St. John Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 28th, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Blake Funeral Home, in Loogootee.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church or the Martin County Community Foundation - Rich and Judy Kluesner Fund.
