Robert Curtis Jones, age 64, of Loogootee, Indiana, and formerly of Marion, Indiana, passed at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Heart to Heart Hospice Inpatient Center, in Evansville, Indiana.
He was born August 31, 1958, in Princeton, Indiana, to Russell and Elfriede (Mayer) Jones. Rob married Karen Ellis on October 23, 1982.
He was a 1977 graduate of North Daviess High School and a 1981 graduate of Purdue University with a B.S. degree in engineering. He retired from Indiana Michigan Power after 37 years as a technologist.
Rob is a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He served on the boards of the Deer Creek Conservation Club and Deer Creek Realty Corporation. He had been an Assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 401. He enjoyed hiking, camping, target shooting, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Karen Jones; son, Chadwick Jones; daughter, Kimberly Jones; brothers, Bradley Jones and wife Ellen, of Shelby, North Carolina; and Bruce Jones and wife Michelle, of Loogootee; brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Darlene Ellis; and sister-in-law, Barbara Ash.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother-in-law, Dennis Ash.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by the Very Reverend J. Kenneth Walker, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 11th, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, in Loogootee, Indiana.
Burial followed in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 10th, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the Blake Funeral Home, in Loogootee, Indiana, and on Saturday, March 11th, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Cemetery Fund or the Alzheimer’s Association.
