Sonja Hupp, age 81, of Loogootee, Indiana, passed away at 9:10 a.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at her home.

She was born April 12, 1939, in Orleans, Indiana, to the late Cecil and Edith (Vickory) Webb. Sonja’s mother passed away when she was a young child and she then was raised by her aunt and uncle, Joseph and Bertha Sult.

Sonja married Charles Hupp on June 21, 1958, and he survives.

One of Sonja’s greatest joys was yard sales. She would attend auctions to buy items that she would resell at her own sale. She was known for enjoying a good haggle or two when it came to buying and selling items. Sonja attended Redemption Christian Church, in Loogootee.

She is also survived by her children, Bruce Hupp and wife Kaye, and Scot Hupp and partner, Mike Carrie, both of Loogootee; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Hupp, of Loogootee; brother, Jim Webb and wife Mary, of Orleans; grandchildren, Michele Gormley, Chris Hupp, Nicole Moore and husband Eric, Katelyn Hupp and Kierstyn Hupp; great-grandchildren, Declan, Addison and Breanna; sisters-in-law, Mildred Webb and Pat Sult; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Kent Hupp; biological parents, Cecil and Edith Webb; brother, Derward Webb; stepparents, Joseph and Bertha Sult; and stepbrothers, Donald and Paul Sult.

To honor Sonja’s wishes cremation was chosen and no service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.

The Blake Funeral Home, in Loogootee, handled the arrangements.
