Wayne Joseph Armstrong, age 73, of Loogootee, formerly of Washington, passed away at 4:46 a.m. on Monday, September 2, 2019, at Select Specialty, in Evansville.

He was born November 14, 1945, in Washington, Indiana, to the late Paul “Jack” and Adeline “Belle” (Blines) Armstrong.

Wayne was a former member of the Carpenters Union, Washington Moose Lodge, and the Washington Conservation Club. Wayne loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and woodworking.

He was an Air Force Veteran and served his country overseas during the Vietnam War.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Paul “Jack” and Adeline “Belle” (Blines) Armstrong; and siblings, Judy Gehrig and David Armstrong.

He is survived by his wife, Gianna Armstrong, of Loogootee; children, Brandon Armstrong, Taiya Armstrong, both of Loogootee, Jane (Rick) Seidel, of Washington, Jennifer Armstrong, of Virginia, Joe (Teresa) Armstrong, of Washington; and grandchildren, Tyler, Dylan, and Madison Seidel, Hazel Rodimel, and Reese and Kennedi Armstrong; great-grandson, Lynix Seidel; sisters, Dianna (Alvin) Neidigh, and Cindy (Nick) Walton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 7th, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic     Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 6th, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Blake Funeral Home, in Loogootee.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Down Syndrome Indiana, in honor of Griffin Gee.
