William “Burrell” Jones, age 94, formerly of Shoals, Indiana, passed away at the Loogootee Nursing Center on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at 3:00 a.m.

He was born on February 29, 1924, in Martin County, to Edward and Margaret (Hart) Jones.

He attended Martin County Schools and was employed by the railroad. He loved to mine creeks for field stones and was an avid outdoorsman. He atte-nded a non-denominational fellowship.

Survivors include one daughter, Naomi Fenley, of Mitchell; three sons, William “Bill” Jones, of Mitchell; and John Paul Jones and Dale Jones, both of Shoals; sisters, Reva Jo Szabo, of Ft. Wayne; Mary Bridges and Edda Lou Smith, both of Mitchell; Carol Baker, of Trinity Springs; Rosalie Bateman, of Shoals; and Janet Jones, of Paoli; brothers, Brad Jones, of Whiteland; Claude Jones and Luther Jones, both of Paoli; and Edward Jones, of Washington; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Sharon Stewart, Naomi Jones, Ruth Tow, and Jean Byers; and two brothers, Jake Jones and George Jones.

A funeral service was set for Monday, June 25th, at the Queen-Lee Chapel of the Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, in Shoals, with visitation held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.

Burial will be made in the Spring Hill Cemetery, in Shoals.
